Today I am thankful for our new car. Thanks to the generosity of several people, including one very awesome anonymous donor, we were able to purchase a 2002 GMC Yukon. The miles per gallon on this vehicle art great, but having no car payment is pretty awesome! Lots of room for cargo, people, and dogs! A lot of really unique timing was involved in us having this car. There are, most certainly, logical explanations for why all these pieces came together The way they did. Nonetheless, I choose to give credit to God. My prayer is that Andrea and I will be worthy of this very significant blessing in our life. Hopefully, there will be some opportunities to pay it forward in the very near future.
Slowly but surely, I am bringing the site here together. It’s taking more work than I expected. I know a bit about technology, but I’m still a white belt on web development. Hope to have the site prettier soon. In the meantime, this post will serve as a test for social media things. Now, it’s time to leave for Guardian Quest to train a bit and prepare everything for the Blind Community Martial Arts black belt test tomorrow. Maybe it’s the rain drops making music on my roof, but I feel like we’re on the verge of something great… The calm before the storm.
Toward the end of 2016, we began to cry more and more for the year to end. Whether it was celebrity deaths, or the hotly contested election, many of us spent this last week hoping things wouldn’t get any worse before 2017 arrived. Now that the new year is here, it is my hope we can move forward with renewed positivity and enthusiasm. The numbers on our calendar don’t dictate what type of life we live. Our choices do. Still, maybe it will be easier to keep going without the overwhelming weight of negativity we have allowed to pile up in the course of the last twelve months.
Today, I begin the next step. It’s December 31, 2016. It’s been a tough year for some. It’s been a transformative year for me. I invite you to join me on the adventure of the next 12 months and beyond. I’m not perfect, by any means. I’ll do my best to share my story, so you can gain some strength and encouragement from what I get right. When I get something wrong, I hope you can learn something then too. For now, Happy New Year!
